Description

Version Aglargon  - Translation of names in Brazilian Portuguese

Gondolin had long been a hidden city, heavily fortified and cut off from the Noldor's allies and enemies alike. The Elf Maeglin, a lord of Gondolin, resented both Turgon and Tuor, primarily because of the latter's marriage to Idril, whom he desired as a lover. After an argument, he set out from Gondolin into the mountains, searching for ore. Orcs captured him, and he pleaded with and bribed them to bring him to Morgoth rather than kill or torture him. Morgoth recognized him, and told him he would make Maeglin ruler of Gondolin and husband of Idril if he betrayed them and gave Morgoth information on how to gain access to the city. Maeglin agreed to the treachery, and was given a token by Morgoth that would supposedly protect his life during the assault. Maeglin returned to the city and spoke nothing of his capture. Idril noticed a change in him however, and sensing danger she began working on Idril's secret way, a hidden passage deep beneath Gondolin that would later act as an escape route. Lastly, Maeglin began to convince some of the weaker lords, such as Salgant, to his side, thought not disclosing his allegiance to Morgoth.

Sorry my bad english:

A detailed description of the heraldry and emblems comes especially Encyclopedia HoME The History of Middle-earth. Before that little was known about the emblems of Gondolin.

The House of the King. Turgon and his house had the emblem of the "moon and the sun and the scarlet heart" and their colors were white, gold and red, each doubtless connecting to one of the emblems. The heart is the heart of Fingolfin, Turgon's father, who was buried north of cidadeO sun is connected with the sun in coats of Finwe house (since Turgon was Finwe's grandson). The Light in conjunction with the sun remind Idada the trees.

The House of White Wing. The most vigorous of the king's men wore swan wings or gulls in their helmets, and the coat of their shields was a swan's wing on blue background. Such were the helmet and the shield that Tuor found in Nevrast, for him to ultimately join and lead the house.

The House of the Mole. Maeglin, who commanded the House of the Mole, was a great mining and apparently associated himself with a mole. But the shields of the house were black and brown, similar to Morgoth. At the end, it was Maeglin who betrayed Gondolin to Morgoth.

The House of the Swallow. This house consisted of formidable archers, dressed in white, dark blue, purple and black. Their leader was called Duilin and their shells were marked with the head of an arrow. Swallow might be reminiscent of an arrow, flying fast through the air and always finding its destination.

The House of the Heavenly Arch. Members of Egalmoth house were all wealthy and enjoyed jewels and gold. On their helmets was a great opal and their shields were sky blue. In the center of the shield was "a jewel built of seven gems": ruby, amethyst, sapphire, emerald, chalcedony, topaz and amber.

The House of the Golden Flower. Glorfindel led this house, whose coat was a dorada flower. The background color was green, "a field in spring."

The House of Harp. The members of this house up dressed in silver and gold fringes and into their shells was a silver harp on black background. The leader of this house, Salgant, flattered Maeglin and his coat only the harp was golden. It is remarkable that the coat share the black with The House of the Mole, perhaps by direct influence of Maeglin on Salgant.

The House of Fury Hammer. A group of craftsmen and blacksmiths, this courageous and strong house, lead by Rog, fought with maces and had heavy shields. Its emblem was the stricken anvil, but their shields showed "a hammer beating and threw sparks about it". No indication of the coat color is given, but a hint can be taken from "red gold and black iron was their treats, our choice so was the red and orange.

The House of the Fountain was lead by Ecthelion that killed Gothmog, Lord of Balrogs. The members of this house enjoyed silver and diamonds, whose glitter and color no doubt influence emblem created with precious stones in the form of source.

The Tree House was led by Galdor and its members dressed in green and his coat carried a white tree.

The House of the Tower of Snow and the Pillar House were both lead by Penlod. No hint is given of anything related to their attributes. For this reason, in artistic freedom, since Tolkien nothing fola on their badges, we use the symbols of their names: a snow tower on background record winter and segundoum dorado pillar on blue background and together with the golden tower.

I love this! You should make them like separately with transparent backround!
